Credits For Posting Turned Off Temporarily

good job staff the spam was kinda getting out of control...

Credits aren't the way to end spam. Come up with more efficient spam filters, ban users for spamming, or something else. Credits are what keep people posting so I wouldn't eliminate them.

Just add more mods to keep the forums in order and give zero spam tolerance

this is fine by me,lol when i saw "Cred off" and knowing i got 12k+ i was like "ahhhhhhh!!!"
but if it's only at posts it's fine by me

 

This has to be the worst Idea ever! Why are you going to turn off something that gives people a reason to post? Granted there were a butt load of spammers, so you get more Moderators and Admins to help control the BS. What do you expect with a forum as large as GameRenders? Its going to have a fair amount of spammers. Alot of n00bs dont bother reading the rules! Develop a system where the rules are mandatory, where they are forced to look at them. I dont know. I think this is a bunch of crap.... any whoot, I know this is only a temp thing but i dont see this way of conducting business working very well.

i agree with this, its kinda a stupid idea. the amount of users online has droped like.. loads... :blink:

Hmm, man I have really wierd mixed feelings about this. I have no problems getting credits and you usually have to twist my arm to post something unless I REALLY have something to say or im selling something but I just don't know if this was the best solution.

I think perhaps certain forums should have the credits turned off in them and I know for a fact this can be done, same for the post count.

Perhaps the forums that really need "incentive" Such as the battle should be re evaluated for having the credits turned back on, I dunno but it just doesen't seem like spamming is an effective way to get credits anyway lol.

I just read the post above mine and ummmmm, who cares if people are just here to buy things, alot of people just come here to sell things too, alot of people come here just for the renders, who cares what there here for, as long as there not hurting anyone and are registered, it's a free country and at this time... still a free site to be a part of reguardless of what you come here for, outside of harrasing people and breaking the rules.

And just in general reflection over the last couple minutes. I have to say...... Ive heard all my life, "If it aint broke... Don't fix it" I guess thats my feeling here. On GR end, alot of people are here every day reguardless of the reason and that generates, clicks, member count numbers that they use for advertising opportunitys etc that leads to cash. Some spammers with a community of over 35,000 people can't be stopped and the members of this particular community are overachievers on policing themselves as it is.

The member count has dropped pretty sharply the last month, I would really think about this move and what it means to the new people that are coming here and want to become active contributing members along with the people that have been here for a while and contribute every day as well.......

yeah, im likeing this idea as long as the creds come back.

Will be nice to see them worth a little but more and will definetly for now stop the spamming.

Sorry i posted a big rant about the ideas But if they are back on, well ohwell no big rant, But i was gunna say it was a good idea apart from how do you make creds from selling sigs if your sigs suck
