http://www.pinecomputer.com/32nvgemxagpv.html My friends looking for a very low end gfx card, that just has the bare minimum. Is that thing any good for $20 bucks? And how can he find out of he has AGP or PCI-E?
if its a old machine its most likely gonna be a AGP open up the pc and look to see if there is a brown slot on the motherboard. That is a AGP slot. A PCI(-E) slot is white
Or look on the internet for your motherboard specs and see what kind of slots it has. And DONT get that graphics card. If you want a relatively cheap graphics card get a NVIDIA Geforce Fx 5500.
newegg stocks 27$ GeForce 6200s, it is debateable as to wether or not it tops the 9250, but it seems certain that for 27$ it can't be beat. tell him to toss 7$ more at it for a lot more performane than a GeForce 2...
He said he can spend the extra 7 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....&SubCategory=48 which one?
yeah, the one computer kid linked to, it's out of stock so pounce on it when it is back in stock... I'm considering one myself.
I would give him my Geforce FX 5200 ... but I keep it as a spare ... just in case something should happen to my current gfx card
