Why does it say CPU usage 100% when im not even running anything and i need to know because its wasting my laptops battery really fast. How can I change it so it wont say 100% or use all of its power?
well what laptop do u have if u have windows this might help http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=328885
The Sytem idle process just shows how much of the CPU you are NOT using, I doubt it is causing your problem. In other words it doesn't decide on its own that make a decision and say "well it is time to idle a some more" it showing you the difference between what all the processes are using and what they are not.
hit cntrl alt delete scroll down ur processes list on the CPU part and youll see a process thats taking up 99% or somewhere around there
press ctrl+alt+delete, or Ctrl+shift+esc then make sure you have CPU usage visable. scroll down and see what is taking up all the %%%. if its mcshield.exe i can easily help you. if its system idle process dont worrk about it because that uses alot of CPU. shouldnt matter.
wow dont be an idiot. [/b][/quote] what's wrong with a fresh install? I format my pc every 2 months or so.
