Well I was looking at some extentions for Firefox earlier and came across fireFTP. Makes it easy to upload and make changes to your FTP in your browser. Just thought I would share it with those who may not know about it.
BLEH! sorry, but for what I did, it didn't work well. I had to upload alot of php files for my forum by ascii, and it did that for every single file, one at a time... most other ftps i use like ftpsurfer, it uploads it alot quicker...
Well I just started using it, havent really tested the heck out of it, I mainly use smartFTP for most stuff, but figured I would give it a try. Works fine when I am installing mods and little things, havent tried real big files yet, but from the reactions so far, maybe I will stick with SmartFTP.
As i said at Invisioneers. I already had this. But it doesnt work with some sites. For all others that it doesnt work for i use WS_FTP Pro. This one is ok for small quick tasks. And its built in. So its more convinent. And yes it slows firefox down, like any other extensions. But its not very much. Especially if you use the Speed Hacks ^_^
I've been using it for 4 or 5 months already and it works well and disables the need to open another program
am i the only one having trouble, or was i just trying to upload larger files than you? It totally is slow... or at the time, rather, my computer was slower...
OKay guys... Slow down the feeding frenzy on the guy. The plugin is for casual use. It's not for use when creating a website out of HTML, or PHP, or whatever. It's GREAT for single item things, like uploading your pictures to your webspace without having to open anything other then the firefox window you already have opened up. However, for website and such, I will still use my WS_FTP Pro. IT's a lot faster for large batch file moves and backups, etc. Good find tho buddy, thanks for pointing it out.
What feeding frenzy? It's called "people stating their opinions" and you will see it alot here. I use it, not often, but it's installed incase I feel like actually using it, it works ok for what I do.
It kinda slows FF down, but it'll be useful for those hit 'n run tasks I guess. And yes, this ain't no "feeding frenzy". Forums were made for opinion and discussion, and it will keep at that... hopefully.
