alright so, i have a router, and an annoying sister which downloads 24/7, when i try to play any games, it makes my connection slow because of her taking most of our connection.

I'm looking for a program that could change the, that could make mine faster, and her connection.. well crap ^^_

Anyone that helps would get 100credits, + a rep.

    @ Beta
    I'm checking it now
I've just checked it now, and it doesn't do anything.. all it does is control your download speed, not connecting to the router or anything.

    Windows

set her dl speeds to 2kbps and get on her comp and restrict uploads. uploading i find KILLS my internet. My bro dl's like crazy and hes told me hes not even downloading. i'll try and play cs 1.6 and my ping is 500+ then he realizes hes uploading. do this and you wont notice any more lag, and hopefully she doesn't either ;)

I always tell her limewire is a virus turn it off i get a pop-up every 2 secs.

    and it sometimes work.

    On topic:

well if you can get on her computer, open up limewire and go tools >options.

then click on downloads, and set the bandwidth bar to as low as it can go.

then go to uploads and do the same. Then click on slots and set the uploads per person and max slots to 0. This should restrict her from uploading anything that she has or is downloading. Also, under uploads check that 'allow partial sharing' has no check mark in it.

There is another way thats more confuzzling but im not 100% sure on how to do it :P

hope this helps. If not, i'll try out the other way.

Don't think its possible to control it from the router, but yes, you can change the settings of Limewire to a much lower download rate.. but in my point of view, that won't do too much, her Limewire will still be open.

Yeah it depends on the type of router you have ususally you can go into your router and change which port is the highest priorety or basically which pulls the most internet so you go into your router and make it so your computer or xbox is the highest priorety hope this helps a little
