Ive heard there is a simple way of locking out the control panel with a password but i can't seem to find one, i dont want to pay for any 3rd party programs to mess with it or anything just wanted to know if it can actually be done with no hassle or do i need to find programs that will do that job and if so could you recomend a good free one.

    Cheers.

Um yeah, that link had a totally different idea behind it.

Why do you need to lock the Control Panel? On a guest account (I'm assuming that's what you're doing this for) you can't do much in it.

Yeah...if you are doing it for a guest account. I don't think the guest can do much with the control panel

A limited account can't even change the time or date for God's sake, so I don't think theyd be able to do much in the Control Panel.

I don't think there is any way to password protect the control panel without using 3rd party programs though.

Fair enough, just wanted to take every precaution, my brothers sly and if something can be messed with it will be believe me. But if nothing much can happen i shall leave it.
