I go to play online, i join a match and I cant get the ready up sign to pop up for me. Every game I join it says "Connection problem, leaving"

I cant play any games..then all of a sudden it said "Router incompatible"

Does this mean I need a new router to play Conkers Bad Fur Day online? :(
