Well, recently my dad moved his computer and we run on a wireless router within 3 computers of the house. Since he moved it, ive noticed a change in my internet speed which in fact makes it faster since its moved closer to my computer. Ok, so when i took the speakeasy speed test. The Download Speed hit around 2.5k kbps. and the Upload Speed hit around 400 kbps. For me thats not bad. It's been doing this for around 2 days ever since he moved it. Now when i tried to test it again towards the afternoon. When i try speakeasy it hit around 188 kbps and the upload is about 400 kbps as before. One thing i noticed is that when the download meter moves it tends to lag alot. like it would stop go stop go just like it lags. but for the upload speed, its smooth like it was 2 days ago. Does anyone have an idea what this is? Nothing really happend it just randomly dropped. If you were wondering i have DSL.
Of course depending on the time of day, traffic on the net can slow things down. The delay that you see on your speedtest is LATENCY. Basically that is also a requirement when you look at internet speeds. Also you'll get better speeds if you didn't run your computer via wireless.
oh ok so explains. thanks alot. so basically theirs different speeds different times of day depending on the traffic and such? and plus the wireless. oh ok thanks man
is your home wireless network secured? cause if its not then anyone thats close to you could be leeching off your wireless connection.
