Well my computer is very very slow and I run on a high speed cable connection. I connect through a wireless router to my other computer downstairs in my house which runs X10 faster. Any reason why this might be happening?

    Are you using a proxy?

If not... Is it just your connection or your whole computer in general?

Try going on other sites. Is it just on GameRenders? If so, GameRenders goes slow once in a while...

try vacuuming the insides... also, try moving the router closer to the adapter. also if all else fails you need a new XP install.

I suggest you defrag your computer deffinately. I also recomend resseting your router every 3 days or something. The backup in the router can cause a drop in your connection's bandwidth. Also, next time, if you could say my internet or computer is being slow. I can't tell if you want your computer faster or your internet faster. We also need to know your OS. Thanks.

Did you forward any ports on the other computer, that's why it's downloading faster? This seems to be a p2p question. What software are you using to download?

If your getting slow speeds, it's the router

Wireless always gives you slow speeds

Most of the ppl I know who have routers, have VERY slow speeds
