Have you considered the Core 2 Duos? They are dominating the market at the moment and they are extremely overclockable.
yes in fact im thinking of getting the E6750 when it comes out instead of this build which all ill have to do is dish out like 50 more chart of were im getting the info and then ill grab this mobo with it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813127022 then a year down the road ill up to q6600 maybe. but heck for the price of the e6750 its a no brainer to go with the intel stuff i just listed. Feed Back? Merged Post: BTW can anyone confirm this chart is right, that the e6750 will only be 183 USD???
It can never be perfect, but it seems fairly correct. Why not invest another $50 for a cooler and overclock the ---- out of that CPU? Your RAM is very good, you could get a very good overclock.
im not an overclocker, how ever i do plan to get this cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835186134
you can get a cheaper c2d system. The New list MotherBoard - Gigabyte DS3 p35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128050 $130 Processor - intel e6420 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115016 $186 Video Card - EVGA 320-P2-N815-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130038 $286.99 Ram- OCz Skill plat (jump on this - rebate!) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227139 $75 PSU - Enhance Enp-GH 500W (no modular cabling but the unit is server grade quality) http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5150GH $70 Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3250620AS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148144 $67.99 DVD - Burner - LG Black 18X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 18X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE Lightscribe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16827136118 $31.99 CD-Rom - f' that you have a DVD burner $0 Case - NZXT Apollo Black SECC Steel Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811146025 $69.99 CPU Cooler - coolermaster gemini http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835103026 $19 ohh damn I'm good... that's within like the same amount give or take a few dollars and every part I linked to is better... then if you factor in the future overclocking potential... Merged Post: yes, the chart is right. FYI the e6420 is the exact same thing as the e6750 think about it. same core revision, same multiplier, same amount of l2 cache, just a diferent strapping default. big F'ing WOW, go into BIOS type 333 in one spot and BAM...
m8? Since when are you friends? xD All I can say go for that build! Oh and the difference would be that he can get a G0 stepping E6750, which will clock higher then the normal stepping E6420. Oh and don't forget to buy 2 120 Mm fans for the Gemini.
i said it as a friendly thing, such as saying "thanks pal" or etc. ... since the e6750 will be the same price as the e6420, ill go will the e6750, cuz i wont have to fool with the fsb, so its all good. thx
now if during the release of the the core 2 duos they drop the price of the e6600 to like 150 then ill grab that
ok im leaning towards amd now due wha im reading bout the new phenoms coming out http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/Virtual...~117412,00.html 5th paragraph, apparently i can but a new quad core in my mobo with a bio's update
do realize that they won't be out for another 9 months or so and that chances are you won't get full performance unless you get an AM3 board and DDR3 RAM to go along with it. q1 2008... also it's unproven. conversely the same was said of K8, but I personally don't see AMD increasing performance the 70% per clock they promised. Maybe 30-50% per clock but not 60-70% it's your money though. I'll be blunt, I'm very likely to have a new CPU/board by the end of Q1 2008 so you might see me with K10, but chances are I'll likely either be on penryn or holding out until nehalem(think northwood with a lot of prescotts optimizations and a bunch of die shrinks) point is, there is always something better on the horizon. G9x is supposed to be out Q4 of this year and will boast nearly 2-3 times the performance of G80. if you always wait, you'll never have anything.
