depends on planned uses, your monitor and the upgrade cycle

off the top of my head..

    e6600 $220(intel price cuts on 22nd)
    ASUS P5n-e SLI $130
    2GB DDR2 RAM $140
    good PSU $140
    two seagate 7200.10s for RAID (2*$80) $160
    8800GTS 640 $330
    decent case $100
    DVD burner $35

    monitor allowance misc peripherals etc.

that would be the jist of it, tell me if anything looks weird.

the idea is simple, buy a single 8800GTS now, use EVGA's step-up program to get a 8900GTS or equivalent down the road and buy a 2nd 8900w/e for Crysis when it's out.

what would be the point in getting 2 8900's?

8800 already rapes all :P and im pretty sure crytek wouldnt make a game that is so graphic intensive it requires that much power.

btw - whats the step-up program for the 8900's? -atm im just assuming their 2 different video cards :P

8900's arent out yet... they will be the next nvidia card. and you would be suprised the crytek engine WILL require a LOT of power to run it at max settings at a good resolution.

and evga's stepup program allows you to trade in your current evga card for a better one, and you only pay the difference.

the idea is that you can send in your old card and get credit for what you paid and then buy a new card.
