ok well i'm about to get a computer (yeah i've been saying it for a month or so but i should be getting it around thanksgiving i hope :P )
but my parents always keep bugging me about if all my parts will be compatible I thought they all were but I just want to check these two...

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130040
that one says GDDR3 memory type (under specifications of course)

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820146565
and that says DDR2 twice in it's specifications!!!!

anyways just wondering if that has anything to do with them being compatible or not, or if I'm just asking a stupid question lol
and if you need any more parts to tell, let me know i've got my whole computer pretty much lined up

    quick otehr question,
the graphics card is saying it need 400w minimum power and i'm getting

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817104014
(at least i was plannig on getting this)

will that be enough to run a system like so:
    http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/wishli...tNumber=5749931
(those are the rest of the parts for all you who might have needed to see them)

anyways ty for your help if you answer :D

gDDR3 is the type of memory used on the graphcisc card and it's isolated from the rest of the system

also, the 8800GT is better AND CHEAPER than the 8800GTS. It outperforms it in almost everything and if you overclock it and an 8800GTX it will beat the 8800GTX in most cases too.

for board, go with a P35 based board. The DS3R is a very solid choice.

PSU is probably fine, but I'd say there are better out there for ~90USD.

ok i swapped around my stuff, I changed my board to P35 based, although i didn't choose the dsr3 because this one had much better reviews and was a bit cheaper

and i swapped to a 880GT like you said :P

The DS3R is a DS3L with better/more features, if you're quite strict on the budget then go with the L if you can afford it the R would be a better choice.♦

as marforce said. The predominant difference is that the DS3L has no onboard support for RAID or firewire, aside from that they're largely the same.

    as for the PSU
    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5150GH

that's my usual suggestion since it's very solid and pretty damn cheap, very much comparable to a lot of $100 units.

as for PSU clarification, I generally dont go by what cards recommend. I've seen some very power hungry cards have some relatively light recommendations and I've seen some very low end, low drawing cards have very high recommendations. Usually I just recomend getting a PSU that leaves you with a reasonable amount of headroom, but is very solid and delivers clean power even at FULL load(vs. a lot of comparatively cheaper PSUs that don't give clean output at rated load)

I couldn't find that psu on newegg, and was planning on just getting all my parts from one site, would simplify things, and the on ei had chosen looked like it was well made with plenty of wires and had 600 instead of 500w, although it's a bit more I think i'll stick with it unless there is some other really important reason i should switch?

and for the board I could get the DS3R but I do wanna try to cut back on my money, and as I was going through the reviews it looked like people were having a fair bit mor eproblems with it than with the one i chose, and if it's only advantages over the DS3L is the firewire and raid and just alittle bit faster i'd rather stick with my L :P
