    Light years is a term to tell how far something away is. Basically, 700 light years means that it will take light 700 years to reach that specific spot.

    and btw, that's a beautiful picture, the universe has always been colorful.

    Yes, that's why hes saying the picture was what the star looked like 700 hundred years ago.

    That's pretty tight. But our generation has a lot of time to enjoy the scene. Since its only gonna be there for the next 10,000 years.

    you can only see about 15 million light years into space with your naked eye
