The new James Bond (Daniel Craig) is in my opinion better than most of the past James Bond actors. Thank God he didn't have a ton of those stupid pun one-liners or I would've shot myself due to the fact that Pierce Brosnan wore me out with them. Anyway, an excellent new James Bond movie for the new 007. James is now a newly promoted 00' agent whose mission is to play in a high-stakes poker game at the Casino Royale. For what purpose? To beat another player, Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) who is a banker for funding terrorist activity, this is his way to gain more money to do so. Along for the ride is new Bond girl Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). (If you've ever seen Kingdom of Heaven she played Sibylla) Anyway she is sent to watch over Bond's money during the tournament. During the course of the tournament Le Chiffre is being apprehended by terrorists who want their money, and Bond ultimately begins to fall for the woman whom he claimed was not his type. Another thing I enjoyed is the fact that you see M (Judi Dench) much more in this Bond movie, and she's always fun to see. Anyway this is the main chunk there's some assassinations/chases in the beginning but you can see for yourself. The action is more physical, apparently our new Bond is not a waster of bullets...good man. Unlike past bonds who charged guns'a-blazing, j/k. But it was nice to see more skill involved in the fighting, for example the chase in the beginning is a bit long, but exciting nonetheless due to the stamina and acrobatics of the man Bond is chasing and Bond himself. Also be forewarned all males, there is a scene in this movie that will no doubt make any of you cringe  The attitude and stature Daniel Craig brings to the Bond role is great, he will no doubt set the bar for any newcomer who comes after him if that is the case. Although I believe Daniel will keep the Bond name to himself for quite sometime, and at the end of the rolling credits I was happy to read "James Bond will return." Bravo.
Saw it yesterday - it rocked, man. The action sequences were incredible - well choreographed and insanely intense - and I'm glad they started forcusing more on Bond himself than all the gradually-dorkier-and-dorkier gadgets (The invisible car in Die Another Day was the most terrible film gimmick EVER thought up). The script seemed a lot more well done too, but maybe that's just me
Saw it on the day before the US release. I'm a huge Bond fan and I have to say this film is very nicely done.
It's a great one indeed. My favorite so far.. Haven't seen the Connery ones though. Eva Green is sexy..
Thanks for the review of Casino Royale. I will be watching the movie very soon. I think it will not be amazing as it is mostly in a Casino and not really based on the normal 007 movies, where they have gadgets etc. It should be a good movie though .
