Well I am looking to get into a college for Designing and Editing. I am taking classes on it next year and I am wanted to get a little head start. I was wondering I have 50 dollars which capture device should I get. I was looking into a dazzle.

Yes, but its $79.99, instead of $49.99, on Best Buy and you can't get it on circuitcity.

I have a dazzle 85 myself and it works great. Just remember to plug it into your high speed usb port or the quality will be ----.

Might want to look at a composite s video cable.

Also the dazzle has a very short cord...

Definally buy online plz. Best Buy is the ----test place. They should be sued for their name being False Advertisement. Newegg ftw. Sometimes you can find better deals from other online venders, but newegg is the best overall.

agreeing w/ john there... 9/10 times newegg is cheapest for me... and I live in CA and have to pay sales tax(yes it still is cheaper even after the 7.75% sales tax)

bestbuy and circuit city rape you w/ prices, so does frys/outpost and geeks.com, avoid all of those sites if possible, ESPECIALLY if you aren't up to date with prices...

If I were you I would save up a bit more money and buy a better quality capture card, one that you can actually install in the back of your computer, instead of a USB one. Trust me, it is worth the extra cost, espescially if you are using it for designing and editing for college classes. I suggest a GeForce or a Radeon

you can get a standard graphics card for about 50$ and if I am not mistaken, video capture is often integrated with it. The issue though is software support, you'de likely have to pirate a program for a good capture support, the advantage of a cheap capture specfic unit is that it includes software. I suggest researching any purchase you get in specific, read reviews.
