Ok guys and gals, got this idea from a local radio station here. Every day, I will be posting 3 stupid news topics for everyone here to discuss. I believe that it will lighten the place up a bit, especially with all the news of the recent deaths lately... So, let's start with the first issue shall we??

    Headline #1

    Flatulent Passenger Grounds Flight!

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Dec 6 (Reuters Life!) - It may be one problem airline security officials never envisioned -- a passenger lighting matches in flight to mask odors from her flatulence.

The woman's actions resulted in an emergency landing on Monday in Nashville of an American Airlines flight bound for Dallas from Washington, D.C., said Lynne Lowrance, a spokeswoman for Nashville's airport.

Other passengers reported the odor of burned matches, but the woman was not forthcoming when asked about it, Lowrance said on Wednesday.

"Of course, she was scared and embarrassed but all the passengers had to disembark, all the luggage had to be searched, a canine team was brought in, and about three hours were consumed in sorting out the situation," she said.

The woman was not allowed back on the flight and barred from flying on American Airlines, Lowrance said.

"Since there was no malice involved and the incident was accidental, she was not charged with anything," she said.

Passengers are permitted four books of paper safety matches on a plane but cannot light them during flight, Lowrance said.

"I've had calls from people all over the country about this," she said. "And I don't have the answer to this problem."

    Pig Throwing

WEST POINT - Pigs and 'possums have been flying through the air onto business counters lately.

Whether it's over or not depends upon whether 20-year-old Kevin Pugh of Cedar Bluff is the culprit.

Thursday, Pugh turned himself in to authorities in connection with the animal-flinging spree. He is charged with three counts of disturbing the peace after four incidents were reported of animals being placed inside or thrown over the counters of the Hardee's restaurant and Holiday Inn Express.

West Point Police Lt. Danny McCaskill said Pugh didn't know the employees of the businesses. There was no evidence intoxication was a factor.

"This was the silliest thing I've ever seen," McCaskill said.

Hardee's was first hit by a prankster Aug. 2 when he placed a small pig inside the restaurant about 4 a.m., the police report said.

The next incident was reported Sept. 28 when an opossum was placed inside Hardee's about 2:30 a.m.

Aug. 4, another 'possum was dropped over the Holiday Inn Express desk.

"Almost every officer we had was involved because the incidents kept happening at different hours," McCaskill said.

Early Sunday morning, Holiday Inn was hit again when a man entered the hotel and yelled "Happy Birthday," then dropped a 60-pound pig over the counter.

Authorities said they have video surveillance of the suspect in three of the four incidents.

Friday, Pugh was released on $599.99 bail from Clay County Jail and is set to appear in West Point Municipal court on Tuesday.

Three of the four animals thrown over counters were recovered by police and were not harmed. The pig used in the most recent incident was last seen running down U.S. Highway 45 Alternate toward Starkville where the Arkansas Razorbacks will play the Mississippi State Bulldogs today.

    Sex educators plan spray-on condom

BERLIN (Reuters) - German sex educators plan to launch a spray-on condom tailor-made for all sizes.

Jan Vinzenz Krause from the Institute for Condom Consultancy, a Singen-based practice that offers advice on condom use, told Reuters on Thursday the product aimed to help people enjoy better and safer sex lives.

"We're trying to develop the perfect condom for men that's suited to every size of penis," he said. "We're very serious."

Krause's team (spraykondom.de) is developing a type of spray can into which the man inserts his penis first. At the push of a button it is then coated in a rubber condom.

"It works by spraying on latex from nozzles on all sides," he said. "We call it the '360 degree procedure' -- once round and from top to bottom. It's a bit like a car wash."

Krause said the plan is to make the product ready for use in about five seconds. He said it would function more effectively as a contraceptive because it would fit better and not slip.

However, before the new condom can be sold in shops, the firm must ensure that the latex is evenly spread when sprayed, as well as optimise the vulcanisation process.

Krause hopes the high tech condom, which will be available in different strengths and colours, will on the market by 2008.

He said the spray can would likely cost some 20 euros (14 pounds) as a one-off purchase. The latex cartridges -- sufficient for up to 20 applications -- would cost roughly 10 euros, he said.

Krause said he had hit upon the idea when considering the difficulties some people faced using condoms, and drew inspiration from spray-on plasters now used in medicine.

    Now... discuss!!!!
