I recently tried to install the Longhorn Vista Transformation Package onto my main desktop PC. It is running on Windows XP Service Pack 2. The installation seemed as if it went perfect until I restarted my PC for the 2nd time, which then I got these errors in this exact order...

When I clicked "ok" for all of those pop-up boxes, I got another one with the option to "restart" that reads:

When I clicked the "restart" button, the "Blue Screen of Death" appeared and it read:

So after that, I manually turned off my PC using the power switch. I then turned it back on. I basically got all the same errors except this time the "Blue Screen of Death" read:

What the hell is going on and how can I fix it? I really need to know man, this is my main computer that I do almost all my work on...

    HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!

get in contact with the manufacturer, they should have provided a system restore cd for times like this,

if you can 'acquire' a copy of xp either from a friend or somewhere illicit, do this

No, That will not and never work because all SP2 pack has are just some updates to the .dll and registry edit stuff for XP SP1 and other things so all it is a 50MB Update.

The only solution to your problem is to acquire a Legal / Legit Windows XP (Home Edition, Media Center Edition 2005, -----) CD from your local retailer (Fry's, Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max, etc.). Once you buy the CD just pop it in and try using the Repair Feature. It might not work since your system cannot determine the current OS installed. Thus your best choice would be to Pop in the CD and at the boot up screen just boot from CD by pressing F8 and then do a re-install of the Operating System. :)

Here are some Prices for the OEM Version (best to buy since it is much cheaper):
Microsoft Windows XP Home With SP3 --$89.99
    Microsoft Windows XP ----- SP3 English --$139.99

    So your choice.

For more help just PM me here!
I would be glad to help you through the process...

Why wouldn't I be serious?

It doesn't really matter about your stuff, the only thing that stands out is that you tried to play with your technology and it back fired. That is what I say to everyone who f's up their computer and comes down to my house for me to fix their ----...

    But, seriously!
By the way you have posted your problems and the messages that your computer gave you were basically translating into the following statement:
"Your Computer cannot recognize the Operating System that is installed on your HD. Some of the 'MAIN' files on your computer have crashed which are by far giving you these fatal errors."

There are four options for you the way I see it:
    1. Last known good configuration: Basically turn on your computer and Press F8 at the beginning when it lets you do that. Then Use the Arrow Keys to highlight an Operating System (if it asks) then Press Enter, and go and choose Last Known good Configuration. It might and might not work in your case.
    2. You acquire a Legit Windows XP CD Regardless of the Home Edition or MCE 2005 or Professsional, from either a local retailer around you, your friends, or your family members. Pop that C-D in (pray to God that it works). Once the Blue Screen has loaded and it gives you the option of either Repairing your System or Doing a Fresh Install. You go ahead and do the Repair. Usually the R Key on your keyboard should do the trick. After that process has started, sit back and hope that it fixes your blue screen of death (it might and it might not, I don't know what those keys can do).
After the process is over your computer will restart and if it fixed the problems then you should be able to log in. If you are able to log in then I suggest to log in and delete the installation of w/e you tried to do to get back your Computer up and running. (oh and after this backup all your files to an external hard drive).
    3. This time if the previous procedure didn't work then here you would have to go ahead and do the Fresh Install. This means that everything on your HD is Wiped clean and you get a Fresh Factory Install of Windows XP on your System. After that you would have to re-install all the drivers and stuff that you had previously.
This is the most outrageous and dangerous feature as it wipes your memory clean and all the files and everything that you had on that computer will become un-recoverable. Meaning there is nothing you can do to get them back. ... so yeah do this at your own risk.
    4. Take your HD out and take it to a retail store like Fry's or Best Buy and ask their Geek Squad to try to fix your problem. At most they will take a fee of $59.99 for the diagnostic and depending on the diagnostic the additional problem fixing cost can go from $50 up to $200 or more... doubt it would reach $200 though...
Try them and see which one works. In most cases #2 should work since Repair does work in most cases... If not then #3 is your best choice. I would say that do #4 in the most rare cases as it costs money. Oh and definitely try to do #1 first.

Tell me what you think... :)

Hope this time I can help.

It took you 7 days to reply

Anyhow, NO you cannot retrieve your lost data. It has been dumped from your HD and there is no way of getting it back. Sorry to say that.
