I will be buying a Nikon D90 within the next few weeks and I am in need of a lens to go with it. I only have money to buy one good one, so I am looking for something extremely versatile, preferably with high aperature range. It can be either prime or zoom, though a zoom would definitely be more versatile. In any case, I am looking to spend about $800 or less so if someone could find me a good Nikkor lens that is compatible with the D90 in that price range I would be greatly appreciative. I would do this myself but my only instincts of quality in this matter is price. Thank you.
http://www.buzzillions.com/dz_44274_sigma_...ikon_af_reviews (should be compatible. I would double check) http://www.buzzillions.com/dz_117003_nikon...l_focus_reviews http://www.buzzillions.com/dz_881268_nikon...r_af_dx_reviews (low maximum aperture, but good focal range) http://www.buzzillions.com/dz_83869_nikon_...f_dx_vr_reviews (in the $700 range, f/3.5, but the most versatile you can get. Seems highly recommended.) http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-aps-...ew--test-report (would recommend viewing other lenses on this site as well. Very specific.) The 18-200mm has its flaws. If you want versatile, this is it. It causes distortion and vignetting at 18mm, but seems to be decent at all the other focal lengths. It has generation 2 VR, which I can say from experience is amazing (I can shoot 300mm at 1/15" w/o tripod). The build is weaker than people expected for the price range as well. I'd look up the rest for you, but I'm getting a wee bit tired. That last website I linked you to will explain quite a bit though. And the best way to learn is to do research while shopping . That's how I learned a lot about the hardware and accessories. Seriously. That's why I do all this research for you guys, lol. Remember: reviews are your friend. They did all the work for you already, you just have to read and compare
