Ok well I am moving in a few days...currently living with my Aunt. So anyways, I need to get internet when I move...I gotta have it haha.

Anyways...what is better Cable or DSL?

Like and how do you tell which would be better here?

Really? I heard that depending on what connection you get, DSL can be just as fast.

Cable is the fastest connection you can get for the cheapest price. I went from AOL, to DSL, then to Cable. Cable is by FAR the fastest connection I have had so far.

cable is fairly fast but shared with everyone in your neighborhood(usually a non-issue) it's prefered by mass downloaders
ADSL is all around slower than cable. it's preferred by people who want good bang/$.
HDSl has faster uploads than cable but slower down downloads than ADSL. it's the preference of "gamers"

i personally could not tell between the diference between my dad's 800k aDSL connection and my mother's 8000k cable connection, though I don't download much(most demanding thing I do is gaming) though at the time I was only playing CS1.6 and CScz.

why not FIOS? Most of the time cable will offer a faster package than a DSL line. It all depends where you live and whats available

DSL is connected at the nearest local hub. usually is a non issue though it can be.

cable is connected at the neighborhood level AND at the region level.
