SO I'm finally going to get an LCD and I've been looking at a couple at newegg this one caught my eye http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824116014 any recommendations of which LCD overall has no dead pixels great image quailty and so on??? 19'' (widescreen possibly) but not over 19'' :shaggy: thx in advance/
i have experience with none fo those monitors, but from what i do see, that acer monitor is in fact rather nice. as for dead pixels, ti si for the msot part, luck of the draw with everything. do your own research ebfore any purchase though... that means taking some time to google some stuff.
from what i hear, dell rebrands decent LCDs as their own creation. They aren't bad, but I'd only btoehr with oen if I could get a good deal or was in the $500+ range
you don't need to get someting "cool" with 2ms or w.e. 16ms is fast enough so that you won't get any ghosting.
well, most decent monitors tend to come below 12ms anyway... IMO 12ms is the limit fo ghosting(it depends by model of course) because the rated responce time is the MINIMUM responce time, actual average responce time might be somewhat higher... personally, i don't even look at responce time all too much, I look for the cheapest monitors of a given size and compare contrast ratios, luminance, and resolution for making a descision and then check reviews to be sure that it lives up to expectations
I have a HP W19, it's the same as the Acer one, but then just 8MS, and the color is silver, but that doesn't bother me. The widescreen resoltion is very nice but most games don't support it. As for gaming, you should be fine UNDER 12MS, i've seen ppl with a 16ms and yes it does ghosts, really.
my monitor is 16 ms. its also probably older than all of yours, i got it when lcds came out for $600. no ghosting whatsoever.
