Hey, my dad might buy me a new laptop and I need more options. He showed me one that is from dell. Here's the specs: -Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology -Genuine Windows XP media Center -1 GB SHared DDR2 SDRAM -100 GB Hard drive -CD/DVD Burner $$=849 Is there any other options? Also I want to learn about these processors and everything because I know very little about that stuff. If you guys could maybe post some links to some good laptops for cheap price that would be nice. Also I MIGHT use it for gaming or I'll just use the other computer. I'll use it for photoshop and stuff like that. If anyone could help, That'll be great. You dont have to look for a laptop but post some links to good websites that have some nice deals for laptops maybe? Thanks in advace. ~Fantasy
My best advice, as I do not know too much about laptops, is to not buy a Dell. They are very low in quality. If possible, order a Sony VAIO. I've heard that VAIOs are pretty good.
that laptop is probably very efficent for general use... photoshop etc, but not gaming, which is why its so cheap. im assuming it has intel integrated video or something like that. for better preformance while gaming, your going to need an independent video card. I always advise people to get Acer's because i have had good experience. I'll post a few links to a couple. Gamer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16834115223 Multitasker: (should be able to play games such as wc3 or CS 1.6) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16834115227 And i guess for a third choice, you can go with your dell. there are still specs about the hard drive (latencys, rpm), the ram (frequency) and other stuff that i dunno about it, but im sure its an efficent laptop for the normal things, and can multitask (music, photoshop, plenty of tabs, still should run fine)
What is Acer? Never heard of that before...Different kind of laptop? Ohh, yeah thats what I saw in the dell site, score was pretty low for gaming but it was good enough for everything else. Thanks alot guys..I've checked out the Sony one on CNET and saw it was pretty expensive. Or was it the you were talking about..
