Ok, I have a small problem . I had windows vista, but i don't like so much vista, so i installed my xp back. the pc i bought was original with vista. after i have installed xp, but button ( on case ) for open dvd, or dvd writer isn't working. ( both ) i have installed all drivers from the packardbell site, everything works, sound, gfx, usb, etc... only that small thing do i need to install other things? like driver for the dvd or dvdwriter? can someone help me? my pc : http://support.packardbell.com/benl/item/?...e&pn=PB81100190 i can open my dvd / dvd writer via '' My Computer -> Right Click on the drive -> Eject '' But that's annoying + I can't close it, i need to push it, and i heard it's bad for the drive. All help is welcome
You will probably have to buy a new dvd drive, cause i think the external button is broken, so you have to go to my comp.>ect. to do it unless u buy a new one.
The button isn't on the drive self, it's on the top of the case . And i don't think my drive is broken, because it works perfect on vista, only @ xp it isn't working.
Nah, I don't think so. It's just a button you know ...i don't think it have to do something with the windows...maybe i need to install a driver for it?
Tried restarting pc etc.? Sometimes, it just gets really screwed up at school, and the drive won't open till logging off or restarting.
Tested it today under vista and it worked perfect, so it can't be broke Damn, this is a little but hard problem.
if there is some sort of driver for using the button(I'm interpreting this as an external button aside form the CD, not the button on the case WHERE the burner is[those are often just an extension thingy and directly hit the original button on the drives]) download all the motherboard drivers and do a bit of a search for your CD. Also check for anything included by your OEM.
I have downloaded all the drivers for that system from PackardBell site. And yes, it's a button on the top of the case, there is no button on the dive self . I'll search for the cd / dvd driver on Internet.
Yea, but that would be very weird, because what have the drive to do with the windows... And I can see the drives in My Computer, so they work and read CD's, only they don't go open via button on the case.
