don't buy from best buy EG: 8800GT is worth 130-150, BB has it for $230, for that kind of money you could have an ATI HD 4850 at this point, I'd say the BEST computer is q9770 2* 4GB kits of highend DDR3 RAM 2* 4870s 4*256GB SSDs RAID 0 4*1TB harddrives RAID 1+0 Auzentech prelude soundcard Silverstone TJ 07 case but in full seriousness what's your budget dude?
Yea, Please don't buy from bestbuy it way overpriced Take a look at Newegg.com,Zipzoomfly.com much better deals
9775 is basically a 2p xeon with an unlocked multiplier. it uses a different chipset, a different socket and slower memory(FB-DIMM DDR2 which runs at lower speeds and much higher latency). for 99% of things I do, the performance hit to the memory subsystem outweighs the benefit of having twice as many processors.
wait a bit for the CPU/mobo. Look at my topic http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=383377 A bloomfield Nehalem core (8 cores @ 2.93 - 4.5 ghz) X58 mobo with intel ICH-10-R chipset. optional: buy 3 harddisks and put them in RAID 5. 2 are striping while the third is mirrorring.
