My computer has started screwing up the last couple of days... It keeps on showing me the blue screen of death which says 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA Anyone know what this means / how to fix it ? cant really find any solutions anywhere. This usually happens on login to windows, but sometimes happens randomly while im using my computer. let me know if you need any more information and what you need if you do. Thanks!
Are you using Windows Vista? If yes, try another OS. Otherwise, there are a few reasons why this screen shows up as per my experience with it: 1. The HDD gets corrupted, like broken or shocked with high-voltage. 2. Your RAM starts heating up and when it crashes, it shows you the BSOD. 3. It may also have something to do with your Graphic card, or a recently installed software which was not compatible with the version of operating system that you are using. Though if the problem persists after altering the above mentioned, try logging on in Safe Mode with networking enabled, it would help you to resolve the matter if the problem is being caused by a software that you might have recently installed. Other solution to this problem can be found on the Internet, when I used to get these errors, I was very irritated but when I searched it up it was pretty clear what actually was causing the problem. Also, here is a link with a list of several error codes (similar to the one that occurred to you) with solutions and descriptions of the errors. I looked it up for you and thought it may be of some use to you: Code: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm EDIT: I was able to find the error code that you receive, on the above mentioned website and here is a quote of the explaination:
Im not sure that it showed a file, ill have a look next time if it happens again, and write down what it was so we can work out how to fix that. If it could be RAM causing it, most likely it is my RAM cause i did buy it kinda cheap for this computer a while back - though it does have lifetime warrantee if that is whats at fault so its not a big problem. I dont think its my GFX card, its fine when running games and is about 55 degrees at load for a long time... Ill try a memtest in a few hours and get back to you with the info ^^ Ill check the sites linked in the mean time, but most of the ones i found just explain vaguely what MAY be the cause, not exactly how to fix it. Thanks for your time.
Well then perhaps the link that I gave worked for you as they gave an exact explaination of what could possibly be wrong.
