hmm... Whats your opinion about this? I really dont like big renders because of the filesize and the fact that you have to resize then (quallity loss). Bratzer
i use my renders for wallpapers/large pieces sometimes, so its nice to have the option of resizing them, also, there are ways of making it so the quality loss isnt as evident (like a faded sharpen usually works well).
I have no idea personally, for a standard sig, an image at 500*500 should be more than sufficent... yet people call these small. one nie thing about larger renders though is that it's easier to render them fast because you can be more sloppy with it since they will be resized smaller 99% of the time.
i used to render large stuff, for fun. time's getting limited now so, i stick to medium sized ones. i dont USE them. just render them. i guess it's suitable for lps and wallpapers
Larger renders are able to store more detail, little things, like minor scratches, so that if you were to have a large piece, then you could see it. They are also more flexible, because if you resize them, then they still contain more information, especially if they are smart objects. I don't know if you understand but I think its still better to have larger resolution renders, thats why they're so hard to hard get
you don't lose quality when you resize, you lose detail. and thats just because theres a limit to how much a computer can physically put on your screen. its much better to start big and go small than vice versa.
