I've got a D-Link Wireless router, but have to say, not too impressed with it. At first, it was working alright, although it slowed down the speeds a tad, i didn't mind it. But now, about 4-6 months later, not liking it so much. The Signal Strength is Always on just "Good" or "Low", and cuts out every now and then. Yes, it's still quite good, but would prefer not to be wireless for me =]
If you want the best wireless that money can buy right now, go with a Wireless-N router. Almost all of them are great atm, but I'd recommend the latest LinkSys one since they can be easily modified with an advanced routing firmware, which can boost your signal strength.
Ive got the 'BT Home Hub Router', its really good actually which i didnt expect as i got it for free as we've been with BT for years. I guess the best things in life free Never disconnects, however when i take my USB Network Adaptor from Belkin out of my PC while the computers on it takes about 5 mins to connect again. However ive just learnt not to take it out. Other than that VERY much value for money
the only linksys router i would ever think about buying now would be this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16833124085 my d-link is already starting to die out on me after a few months.
Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT Sorry it doesn't get any better than that and any one who has tried it will agree.
Well, I've owned many routers. You CANNOT say, just from the brand of the router, that a router is good. I have owned an SMC router, 2 Linksys routers, a D-Link router, and some other random brand I cannot remember. The best one was the one I spent the most money on, the Linksys Wireless N router (It is the same price as the one mentioned in the first post.) As long as you buy a QUALITY router, they go up my letters I believe, you will have an amazing router. Took me 10 minutes to set mine up, and I am completely satisfied with it! However, if I did not try out this model, I would have said Linksys routers suck, in view of the fact that my first router was the cheapest model of Linksys routers, which would explain the quality. It's not ALWAYS that way, but obviously if the specs are higher (N routers are generally the best), than obviously they would be better. Just my 2 cents, I don't know too much about routers, but thought I would post this.
