Title Says it all. What is the best laptop to get as far as reliability, stability, performance and all that jazz. Looking for it to stay under 3,000.

I'm looking at the Macbook Pro's as well as brands like Acers and such. Would like a core duo, and preferably would like to be able to play games like Counter Strike Source. And on a final note, no dells, I have never had a good experience with them.

    :)

as of right now, the yonah core core duos are more or less dual core Pentium Ms, so gaming won't really improve(though they still rape the P4s)

also, how important is battery life, an x1600pro should have better battery life than a 7900 but the graphics won't be as intense while gaming.

wow, i just noticed: Alienware laptops blow hardcore. Not only the prices, but they just suck. Not even a Core Duo to choose from (ok, well, i think that Intel is leading in mobile processors. i dont know much about the Turion, thats why i say the suck. they do have the 7900 GTX SLi laptop... 5 grand tho?).

dunno much about the macbook's, ill go research them.

Yes alienware as big rips but if you have the money, there nice. AMD CPUS are better than intel at the moment i belive, but i don't really follow notebooks.

If you have any mac books questions i have a friend that has one and i can get you some answers.

Its the MAcs with intels that are the only ones I'm curious about. I need the availability of XP.

And i dont think I'll get an alienware. I'm actually not the fondest of their gaudy look...
