Title Says it all. What is the best laptop to get as far as reliability, stability, performance and all that jazz. Looking for it to stay under 3,000. I'm looking at the Macbook Pro's as well as brands like Acers and such. Would like a core duo, and preferably would like to be able to play games like Counter Strike Source. And on a final note, no dells, I have never had a good experience with them.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16834115226 if you want a $3000 laptop, you wont be buying from newegg. that'll play like everything, and still have money left over. Merged Post: here's another one: http://shopping.com/xPO-Toshiba_Satellite_P105_S921 got a nice geforce 7900. dunno how long the battery would last tho.
as of right now, the yonah core core duos are more or less dual core Pentium Ms, so gaming won't really improve(though they still rape the P4s) also, how important is battery life, an x1600pro should have better battery life than a 7900 but the graphics won't be as intense while gaming.
First off 3000 what? clams? Anyhoo, the above is good, i take your in the USA. www.alienware.com second best they do Just stick some things on and you should be good. #1 self claimed customer satisfaction. Yes they are over priced but meh.
SLI notebook: http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=172 xP probly overheats easy.. This is better than john's choices: http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configu...?mid=178#header
whoa, i must say that's a great find from ibuypower. that second one is a steal. i would definally get it (if it were me.) i'd also throw in a Media Remote and a Car adapter (can't say how many times my laptop dies in car rides!)
yea, its about the same as what you listed, but cheaper and u can upgrade a few parts of that also, and add what you said^
wow, i just noticed: Alienware laptops blow hardcore. Not only the prices, but they just suck. Not even a Core Duo to choose from (ok, well, i think that Intel is leading in mobile processors. i dont know much about the Turion, thats why i say the suck. they do have the 7900 GTX SLi laptop... 5 grand tho?). dunno much about the macbook's, ill go research them.
Yes alienware as big rips but if you have the money, there nice. AMD CPUS are better than intel at the moment i belive, but i don't really follow notebooks. If you have any mac books questions i have a friend that has one and i can get you some answers.
Its the MAcs with intels that are the only ones I'm curious about. I need the availability of XP. And i dont think I'll get an alienware. I'm actually not the fondest of their gaudy look...
not only are they ugly, they arent good (as stated above). the desktops arent bad, but ugh @ laptops.
