Really, the only good games for the GBA are side scrollers, Adventure games (really only Zelda games) and RPGS

    Side Scrollers

    Mario Games

    Adventure

    Any of the Zelda Games

    RPG

    Pokemon Ruby
    Saphire
    Emerald

    Golden Sun
    Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (you have had to play #1 to know the storyline though)
    Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Tales of Phantasia (some people like some don't)

Generally great games are RPGs like Pokemon, Golden Sun, Kingdom Hearts and Megaman.

    Advance Wars are great too.

    I'm gonna recommend:

Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

They made 2 hour long train trips fly by ^_^
