Angels and Airwaves new album, I-Empire, hasn't even released yet.
So either you only listened to the few songs of the promo CD, or you grabbed a leaked version.
I will say though from what I heard so far from it, it's a great album.

Tom DeLonge is still a douchebag though. That will never change.

Anyway, so far this year my top albums are as follows and not in any order...

The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
    Panda Bear - Person Pitch
Ghosts - The World is Outside
Stars - In Our Bedrooms After the War
    New Pornographers - Challangers
Architecture In Helsinki - Places Like This

    Hmm...

Three Inches of blood - Fire Up the Blades
Weedeater - God Luck and Good Speed
Ak 1200 - Weapons of Tomarrow

There are others but I can't remember the names. :D

There are so many good albums this year, so it's hard to decide.
    But it must be between:

    Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
As I Lay Dying - An Ocean Between Us
Evans Blue - The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal to Life Ends
    Anberlin - Cities
Thrice - The Alchemy Index Vols. I & 2: Fire and Water

This is by far the best comment I've read on My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade:

"I hate The Black Parade. To me it seems Way just listened to American Idiot and decided that he could (try to) be Ian Anderson/Roger Waters too. The problem with his theory though is that he and his band are not talented.

The Black Parade is really the worst concept album I've ever listened to, and I've listened to Yes' Tales Of Topographic Oceans the whole way through. Way really showed how incompetent of a songwriter he really truly is. Throughout the whole album it was one big unoriginal sound collage of David Bowie, Queen's Brian May, and Pink Floyd's The Wall just without anything redeeming.

This is even worse than American Idiot, and is just a slap in the face to real progresssive rock. The songwriting is unoriginal and boring and the concept is really dull. My Chemical Romance is really dedicated to getting worse with every release, but I don't think they'll ever be able to top this crap. Listening to this is like getting a penis rammed into your ears."

You can't really say that...he might play guitar.

Anyways, MCR's newest CD is a huge ripoff of all the rock opera bands like Queen and ----. None of it is original. American Idiot was a terrible CD that disgraced a very talented pop-punk band.

Rise Against was last year man. I'm not gonna argue though, one of the best albums I've ever heard.

I really liked The Starting Line - Direction, Say Anything - In Defense of the Genre, Paramore - Riot!, Motion City Soundtrack - Even If It Kills Me, Four Year Strong - Rise or Die Trying, and Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light. Oh and Bloc Party - A Weekend In the City.

This year was amazing. A whole bunch of great albums dropped this fall.

Am I the only Liberal who can accept change and new styles of music from bands? Jesus Christ. I don't care if you don't like an album, but saying that a whole band has no talent because of it is just terrible. It just proves how little you know and how little you appreciate what it takes to make music.

Btw, the lyrics he wrote were inspiring.

It takes more than lyrics to make a song good. WAY more. And it isn't a "new" style if you're ripping off old styles, now is it? I appreciate music, I love music, everything about it. Every genre, I can sit through anything, whether I like it or not. A rip-off is a rip-off though. That isn't changing a new style, it's just ripping off older ones without adding anything relatively new to it. The lyrics were far from genuinely inspiring, anyways. :\

Anybody can copy off of older music. I mean, Nirvana admitted to ripping off the perfection of The Pixies, at least they admitted it, and at least they did it well. MCR is the same thing, but the result was the EXACT opposite.

Change isn't a bad thing, but when you change into a terrible version of your previous self (ala Green Day, Sum 41, etc.) then you're just going to hurt your dedicated fanbase. I love old Green Day. Dookie is one of my all-time favorite CDs, but American Idiot was just some washed up ----e that every gobbled up because it was <insert comment here>.

My Chemical Romance is the same way, though I never liked them. They were a lame ass band to begin with, then they decide to rip the living hell out of Queen, so they sound like a new and "improved" (aka terrible) version of one of the greatest rock bands to grace the earth.

I know what I'm talking about BTW...because it's my opinion.

I'm not gonna say you guys are wrong about MCR sounding like Queen or any other band, because they definitely were a huge influence on this new album, and I'm pretty sure Gerard Way said so himself. I really was disappointed with the new album this year, but I still gotta show these guys some respect. They really do a lot of selfless work and care a hell of a lot more about the world than most people do.
