Also I would like to point out, that People need to give more Comments or Critiques on the Tag or Member they are Voting for By Just quoting the person before you and raising the number from 2-0 to 3-0 does not really tell us the meaning behind your vote. I have done this one or two times, and I am Sorry for that but, I am disliking this 100%, I mean being a designer, and being in the Battle-Dome Battle, I would like for all the people who vote for me or my opponent to take a few seconds and give their thoughs on the Tag itself. By just saying that or Comments in those areas look to me like Spam I did one of them and Draven Pointed it out, now I think that it should be required to give at least something. Otherwise there is no point in Public Voting...if you cannot explain why you chose something. If this is not required, then Draven or the GR Graphics Crew shall go around ongoing battles and either Null their vote or just do something about it Just some thought -Vanquish
So far the Battledome is doing great and is fun. It does however, have it's flaws. I'm also just not too sure how long it's going to last. I'm not saying it's going to die out or anything, because as long as there are members, there will be participants. The Battledome went live on the 11th, correct? It's just starting up so right now it's easy to manage. There aren't many battles going on and only a few members are participating. But do you think you, DraveN, will be able to keep up with the speed of the Battledome in the future? Hopefully you'll have other staff on board to assist you. One problem with it, at the moment, is that everyone is using their best pieces. Because of this, we have the best of the best here at GameRenders going at it in the Battledome. There's really nothing wrong with that, except that it might make potential participants look away. Like it or not a lot of people battle for the glory and not for the fun. Again, there's nothing too wrong with that. But they look away if they know they are going to lose. It would be nice to say, "No pre-mades," and trust everyone, but trust is well... well trust is... you see where I'm going with this I hope. This however is an unavoidable flaw with all battles systems. Eventually people will run out of their pre-mades and start making tags for specific battles. Time will tell. Hopefully in the future once the ranks are coming about and those who are battling now are out of "novice", more people will participate and the battles will be more balanced.
yup i agree with you rainbow,as you say members will eventually have to make their own tags and not use premades,also as it grows and more members join i think it will go from strenght to strenght,the battledome went live on the 21st of july so it the short time of 5 days i think it has seen a lot of activity, just under 100 battles in 5 days!!
Sorry if this was stated Im in kind of a rush right now to get out the door but I wanted to post this. I think it would be kool if we had a huge tournament every month like the last week and each person would pay lets say 10 credits to enter 2 battle continue up the bracket. Like i said sorry if this was already an idea or posted ect im not active much anymore due to life lol but thats my idea! -Mike
agree with rainbow, members are using the best hey already have in the battledome (i know i am) and that means that only the top 10% of gr has a chance of winning something right now. It doesn't matter much because, as said, it's all for fun. But this might discourage new, less experienced, artists to join in because you have to pay a fee if you lose. But then again this will probably will be solved once people get up to higher ranks. anyway I'm really enjoying it and hopefully it'll grow even more active
Okay Ive thought about why the BattleDome isn't getting as active as it should be. And its because members that know that they aren't as good. Just don't even try, because they know that they will get crushed. And we all know no one likes to lose. I know people will say that "You can pick what rank you want to battle with", well we all start out at the same rank. It doesn't work. Lets face it, GR isn't the massive site it use to be. Basically everyone knows everyone. And with a site that doesn't have a big pile of members coming in everyday. What I'm trying to say is. The battle dome doesn't work unless we can find a way to put classes in, where the better vs the better..ect. Fair battles. Now I know that is totally away from what GR is. But right now, don't want to sound ------y, the "more better" artists are using the battle dome, because we know we have a chance. Just my 2cents. Do whatever you'd like with it.
