Okay so i've been playing bass for almost 7years now and i find myself quiet easily above average when it comes down to playing. I'm looking for any help from anyone that knows how i could improved my tapping technique, slapping technique and overall speed at playing(you even dare tell me to use a pick i'll give you a columbian necktie) Edit: i'm waiting for the wide twat thats going to tell me to use a pick.
A better idea. Quit bass, pick up and electric and play it with a pick... Jokes Maj, but seriously by now you should be way good. Maybe get a teacher?
Ummm, I think the only way for you to improve at this stage does not involve the internet. Find a teacher that's faster and better than you, and start taking lessons. It's really the easiest way to learn anything.
No, bass is a nice instrument and should be played without plectrum. But don't you get like uber fat hands from playing without pick? Because of all the eelt.
I've been playing bass for roughly 2-3 years, and I used to have a major problem with speed of playing. I'm left handed, and naturally a faster picker with that hand, and i've learned to use the regular bass and guitar, so switching to a left handed one was out of the question. So what I did was tap my index and middle finger constantly for like a month strengthening muscles and slowly improving speed. It may take a while, and you wont feel anything right away (besides two sore fingers), but it definitely did help me out with the speed part. Or you can cut off your fingers and glue them to picks, that might work good.
