Auto Suspension Suggestion

Ok, I've been checking the forum a bit and i see people that have allot neg reputation. Well, they get -repped, and -repped, and -repped etc. etc. but nothing really happes except that their rep is going down and down.
So my suggestion is:
If you have 5 -reps you get an auto suspension of 3 days.
So if you reach -10 reps you get another 3 days
and so on.

It doesn't matter if you have like 100 positive reps. -reps aren't really importent but negative reps are. So if you have 5 negative reps you should get suspended.

For example:
I have 16 positive rep points at the moment.
Now, i go spam and spam and spam
and i get 4 negative reps by random people
That would make me be on -4. (Nvm the positive reps)
And someone positive reps me, then you are still on -4!
The next time i'd get a negative rep again i'd get suspended for 3 days.

Once that happened my standings would be: +16 -5, as soon as i reach +?? -10 i get suspended again

allot people get -repped for no reason, if thats so they have to report it, only the hard -reps count.

 

I don't think theres a mod for it, ad instead of -repping people should PM a mod if someone is spamming.

 

agreed coz if somebody is being stupid and gets a lot of -reps

They get away with it apart from a tiny little square saying -9 rep

 

Wouldn't work for people who want to get the most -rep and they get the -rep for doing positive things (like Incendia, aka Jay)...

but for people like keller, etc, it would be a good idea.

Also, I dont believe there is a mod to do this, and we aren't truly interested in having a custom mod made for GR.

 

Well it does not really have to be a mod, if you could like just notice an admin someone has allot -reps and let them check if the -reps are indeed seriious -reps and then suspend him.

People could just report that someone has those 5 neg reps.

 

I suggested this about a year ago for an automatic ban after a certain number of -reps. Didn't go through.

 

I dunno, there will always be an issue. 5 buddys on the forums would be like, oh god I hate that Seuss kid even though he has +4000 rep. I say we all just give me -1rep and get him suspended for 3 days. k3k3

 

No because i could imagine certain members getting all their e-buddies to negative rep a person they dislike.

its ok..but what if someone is really nice and some retard gives u -reps then what gonna get suspended for no reason?

 

This Auto Suspension idea would not work. People could get each other to -nep someone a certain number of times so they get suspended for some time. Also there are a lot of unfair negative reps which normally have to be sorted out, with your idea there would be no time if there limit goes.

Well pointed that -nep do not mean a lot yet, but the whole idea of an auto suspension is not the right idea, I do not think!

 

The reputation system is like the community's warning system. But there is a reason why we all cant warn each other.

The rep system works as it is, I dont believe that people should get banned for having low rep.
