    That isn't what happened. The kid died, and someone mentioned on his myspace that he lost his ipod shortly before it happened, but it wasn't at all to do with his death. The an hero bit started when some kids at his school drew a poster to put at his grave/memorial/wherever, and one kid accidentally misspelt what he wrote and put "you'll always be an hero", or something to that effect. Then when /b/ started spamming his myspace with stuff about how he killed himself over an ipod, they started calling him that.
