    Where those temps you gave us right after you rebooted? They are too high for a athlon xp if it is. The athlon xp should idle around 35C. 42C is pushing it. Can you download prime95 and run the stress test for 10 minutes, then tell use what your temps are after right when you are doing it.

    what is your prossesor's ordering part number ( i need the whole thing off the ordering part number label..to determine your max temp) and you can have a possible hot spot buts thats a very low chance with 4 case fans.....
