I need a new comp and i saw that Walmart is selling dells now so i was wondering if they are good. I know a little bit about computers but not much I know they arent the best but i dont have alot of money and its only $500 so is it worth the money? http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5925441
If you are a hardcore next-gen PC gamer, or like running 500mb .psds in photoshop, then I would say no. But if you enjoy games like Starcraft and rarely work in photoshop, or just use your computer to write word files for university, and browse the web once in a while, I would say it would be alright.
Im not a hard core gamer i play cod2 mostly and i might start playing WoW again. I have a better video card then whats in there so i would put that in. And i havent used photoshop for a looong time.
here's a hint. Anything sold at walmart is either very simple in nature, or very cheaply implemented. PCs are no exception. as for the system you linked to, it's an OK deal, not good not bad. Decent performer and it would have been around 1000 including monitor a year ago.
It should work fine, I have a Compaq with a gig of RAM, an nVidia 6150, and an AMD X2 +3800.... I can handle FEAR on this, so that is only a tiny bit under mine, you should be able to handle CoD2 and WoW.
your definition of handle is the same as my definition of suffer. Nf410 is a horrible excuse for a VGA.
You must be running XP... If he buys that, he is going to have to update that video card and update to 2 gigs of ram. Plus upgrade the power supply to accommodate the more powerful card. Or I don't think he'll be happy. Call Of Duty on this machine is anywhere from 10 fps to 125fps, Mostly in the 20 - 30 range. Hell even old Enemy Territory sometimes goes to 10 - 15 fps. My old 9600GT 128 on Xp never did on my old slower system. Plus I had problems with the SAME intergraded card running right. So I had to upgrade anyway. I have not played WOW on this tho. So I can't pass judgement on how it will play. I made the mistake of buying a system with better spec than that. and had to update everything to run games half way decent. I'll say it again Vista kills most games. Just be careful. Seems like a good deal on the page, but think of all the upgrades to run Vista and game decent. Not such a good deal anymore. My specs.. if this helps you to see if i'm crazy or not Vista Home Premium. 4400+ 64x2 2 Gigs rams 360 gig HD 7900GS 256 MB PCI-E 20 inch widescreen
