I was just wondering if anyone here is a fan of theater, or is involved in their school/community's musical/play. I enjoy singing and acting, and I'm currently involved in a local theater production of "The Pirates of Penzance." My high school did "Les Miserables" this year. I have a few videos of the performance on YouTube if anyone is interested. Let me know, and I'll give you the links. :)

Then you're a stereotypical prick apparently.

Tell me you know everyone that does theater and that you have actually carried on a conversation with them. Even if you do I won't believe you.

A loser in what way? The kind of loser that judges others without getting to know them?

In middle school I went on fieldtrips to plays all the time. I enjoyed them for the most part. My High school dosen't have a drama club type of thing so I havn't seen any recently. Also, just because they like to act/dance/sing dosen't mean they're a loser. It shows they have creativty. Good luck on the production Rubidox. :D

I was more into the tech side of things in school. I got to build the sets and demolish them. The school didn't bother saving anything unless it was overly valuable, we literally shot it up with staple guns, kicked through canvas and lit it on fire, etc. for 1 class then started building the next day for the next set (pretty big thing around here). Was fun, but I am not really a theatrical person.

I guess I'm pretty lucky, because my school has a great theater and music program. Each year, the Thespian Society goes to Broadway. They also do theater competitions. The only bad thing is that our school is pretty old, so the stage is horrible. So this year, a local elementary school let us use their stage, which is HUGE (their school was just built, but I don't know why they need such a big stage). They also had real theater seats instead of the folding chairs everyone was used to.

    Here's a video from the performance: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Hb25J8pFUlE

Set-building is pretty fun, but destroying it is better. :)

Church plays count too! What sort of roles did you play?

Well, my first one I was this kid that was super popular and had this great girlfriend and I was driving and got into a car accident because I got drunk, and killed my best friend and I survived. Then I became all mean and ran away from home. Lol, I turned around by the end of the play. (I've been in four plays) Then I was this teenager with a wicked bad attitude, I got to yell at our deacon and everything! It was a great time. Then I played one of the twelve disciples, John the Beloved disciple. That was cool, I had to cry though....O_O...and then in another play I played John again, but it is always fun. Haha

I'm a pretty big fan. And coincidently my school did Les Miserables this year as well, it was pretty bad ass and we had an awesome stage/crew/cast/settings
