As a beta tester for Vista, I have noticed that a lot of people are finding it difficult to locate an antivirus that will recognize Vista. Because it is an unidentified 64-bit OS, the 3 major competitors (Symantic, McAfee, and Trend) don't recognize it as a valid OS, and therefore, will not install. IF anyone else here is beta testing Vista and has found a solution, help would be appreciated.
there is a windows antivirus? all I know about is the Windows Defender (Microsoft Windows Antispyware Beta 2)
Windows One Care is crap...lol. And all the defender is, is a cheap spyware monitor.... Oh well, I will keep searching.
yeah...i know all it is is an anti-spyware program... btw..how did you get to be a Beta tester for Vista?
I wouldn't think many companies would give out an AV for something thats in beta.. I mean, they can change one thing in the OS, where the AV wouldn't work. I'm sure they're waiting for the full release...
I'm sure there aren't any viruses for Vista yet.. so you don't really have to worry about it. Just be careful of what you download and what sites you visit. Have you tried Microsoft products? Sure, some of them may be crap, but its better than nothing, right?
