Antivir

Hey, i got told by some people that AntiVir, is one of the greatest Virus scanners u can get. Is this true? its free and ive downloaded and installed and it does look quite good, is there and bad things about it?

 

My sister has AntiVir Personal Classic on her computer. It's pretty good, but I would reccomend using it with a firewall. I installed Zonealarm on her computer and she hasn't had any problems so far.

 

Antivir is rather good. Havent heard anything bad.

I personally use Avast and Nod32.

for a firewall, I'd suggest Sygate. Im not sure if there is a free version around anymore... but I have their last free version until Symantec bought them out...

 

i use AVG Anti-Virus Pro, and Sygate Pro, which are really good, if you go to google and type AVG Free Edition and Free download of Sygate, you should be able to download it.

 

AVG, Antivir, and Avast are excellent free AV's.

Sygate, and ZoneAlarm are awsome free firewalls.

 

Witch is better? Sygate or F-Secure?

 

use avast home edition(free). its very nice

 

I'd say Sygate. Sygate is the easiest to setup and maintain, and ive used alot of different firewalls

 

i used zonealarm and it f'd up my computer , it was ma fault tho

now i just use the sbc anti-virus thing

 

Well if you have a router you don't really need to buy a firewall just use the standard windows one, i mean, the software one will block atempts on the open ports, this is the reason i only use my router and the normal windows firewall.
As for anti virus i use symantec.

 

the windows firewall is about as dead as a doorknob, about as good as a paperweight...

 

Yeah as most things windows but it does for me.

 

I use Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0, and Zonalarm PRO for a firewall.

 

I use Avast! Pro, and I have tried many firewalls, sygate,zonealarm ect.. abd i have found kerio personal firewall the best.
