been a big fan of Amon Amarth for a few years now, gotta love folk death metal. The singing is awesome i don't know what your smoking but damn that guy can scream. If you have a chance check out their website and watch the video for 'Fate of Norns' awesome song. I have almost every album from them and not one bit disappointed. Good stuff :)

"Folk Death Metal?" Is that even a genre?

    They're melo-death.

Plus, they're amazing. I love their riffs, and I have every CD by them, and I've seen them 3+ times here (twice with Children of Bodom).

    yes Folk/viking metal

"Amon Amarth is a viking-themed death metal band from Sweden founded in 1992[1] in Tumba, named after a location in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. The name means "Mount Doom" in Sindarin."

    AKA windmilling ^^

Plus, I've never heard of "folk death" - it's usually just Viking metal.

if you think about folk metal takes on the same aspects of viking metal; Folk metal is just another term used for viking metal

But generally Viking metal is a term used by every and any band that sings about said matter.

Folk metal is an actually genre.

They are inspired by viking metal, yes, in the lyrical sense, but their music reflects European Melo-death clearly.
