About to build my gaming rig, and I was wondering, AMD or Intel Processor? Also, any other components you recommend? EDIT: I posted somewhere on page 3 that I am getting an AMD processor, most likely an X2 series. Read that post before you reply to this.
AMD for sure. Up until now I have only had pentium cpu's. Im building a new computer next month, but im going with an amd cpu. Im getting the amd 4000. I cant wait. There cheaper and better than intels chips. If your really serious about gaming get the dual cores. If i had the money i would
Personally, I like Intel - their processors also tend to be better for gaming. However, AMD do make pretty nifty processors and I know lots of people who prefer them. Ah well - I say Intel.
AMD. It's more reliable, and faster, so yea. I'd get an ASUS motherboard, and OCZ ram. If you need anymore ideas on what to get, just post a topic, me, Master, .DeFuSiOn, and Diablo will be sure to help you...
Well it just depends on what you are trying to achieve Ive chosen AMD for like hm.. 1.2.3.4.5.6!! years Now as i built my PC a few months back i had to go through this stage - I looked at benchmarks for amd and inteld all that stuff Intel CPU - Higher clock speeds ie 3.2GHZ but buses are small so would require more cycles to complete an instrcution AMD CPU - Higher bus widths ie lets more data carry through so will execute more instructions in 1 cycle Intel - Multi-tasking AMD - For gaming but not only for gaming its powerful enough to do mostly anything really Well just the basic outline above When Mr.Defuzion and Master get here they will provide more Oh and btw go for a 939pin AMD CPU if you are gona for AMD & best choice motherboards are ASUS and MSI [Depends on Overclocking features as well] - I got a ASUS with Corsair XMS 1GB
Thx for the input so far. Also, for anyone else who posts, can you recommend what processor. Like, if you pic AMD, what processor of theirs is the best, and same for Intel.
first we need to know what board you are getting... I would suggest: motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131571 cpu: (pick any of these) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....rice=&maxPrice= AMD is better, I have one myself...
well I have a Intel but my last computer had an AMD so I would go with AMD because people prefer it for gaming computers
Erm, you need to do some research, its a proven fact that AMD Processors are better then Intel for gaming.
AMD for sure... i also have got the asus motherboard, so it makes it even better!... its cheaper and faster, and more reliable with games, it gives a better performance...
I love my my amd x2 3800 with my dfi mobo (got it to 2500mhz @ stock volts) but i havent tried it for gaming, as my gfx card is a bit of i damp squid. I would say if its for pure gaming then a single core would be better, unless you overclock the dual core to the speed of the single.
Nice board and CPU choice especially the X2 core hehe Master - whats your fav. case Or i might choose one
A lot of people will say AMD because they are like 1% better in everything. Seriosly, a Ghz is a Ghz, it's a unit and if the box says for example 2 Ghz, it actually is 2 frigging Ghz. Whatever you want, I actually WOULDN'T go for dual core because they are - contrary to popular believes - not better for gaming.
lol GHZ mean nothing if it cant process something It needs buses to carry the stuff - Higher the bus widths the better http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/06/03/dua...re_stress_test/ VIGOROUS Benchmarks [I mean it its 29pagse-lol] - AMD vs Intel Dual cores if considering
