    Read a preview of the two newest chips one from intel and the other from AMD... So I guess the battle of the chips is going to be sooner than expected :D

    intels newest are only going to be a tiny bit better than amds current. So expect to see amd flog intel in the next round aswell.

    Ah well its a game of leap frog for these companies, unless of course Intel or AMD choke :huh:

    from what I read they were slightly(just barely) behind the athlon X2s in terms of performance due to relatively-week floating point capabilities and the extra two pipeline stages. Plus s far as I know they only go up to 2.0 Ghz while the athlons go up to 2.6.

    the diferences on both for clock-to-clock performancee are minimal though. The only nice thing about the Core Duos is that they run really cool and have the potential to be really good OC-ers. What we have seen thus far are only the laptop versions though if I am not mistaken.
