It depends on whether you like to play games on the go or not. An Alienware desktop would be better in my view if you are not looking for the mobility feature.

I think they're way too overpriced I mean like if you doo al the math you can get like an identical dell for like $300-400 less. Alienware must charge like a ton for the case which you can buy one on ebay for like $100.

Although personally I wouldn't get a Dell ( mostly because they use alot of outdated un-warrantied parts in their computers ) there are way cheaper alternatives to a pc thats 30x better than alienware. Try Freedom Computers, google it or don't.

For gaming build your own PC. But I have a laptop (not a great one, just a compaq presario 2100) and its been worth the money easily. Of course, I dont do much gaming on it at all. But the portability makes it worth while. Im sitting on my bed now typing this, and I bring it on all the vacations i go on to watch DVDs. So really it depends on what you think you'll use your comp most for. If gaming, go with a custom build PC, if everything else, go for the laptop. SO there you go :D

Don't get a alienware unless you have the money to waste on it. I believe that they make them way too expensive.
