YEs it can run BF2 On MAXED settings, it can also run FEAR at maxed settings, thats a good card, my 7800GT can run all of those at maxed so you got no problem.
For that money (1800bucks) you could get twice as much. And yes, ( I think you have a 7900GT because its 256mb) you should be able to to play smoothly battlefield 2 on max. (well max, ingame settings)
