    1. how come in some c4d packs, the c4ds come with a black background attached to them (meaning they arent transparent backgrounds) -- how do you use those? (do you have to use the background that comes with it? or...?)

    2. are there any simple c4ds like the ones used in Octane's tutorials at http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=227213 ? becuase all of the ones i have downloaded are really gushy, thick, and flowy, and they're really "busy"

    3. when you put a c4d in an image, do you configure it first? (meaning do you re-size the c4d and crop certain parts before you use it)

im really confused about c4ds

thanks to whoever (or all of you) who answer my questions :D

1.) use lighten, screen, color dodge, linear dodge, for blending it to get rid of the black parts

2.) depends on the c4d pack you got or how you used it

3.) it's all up to you in this part, c4ds weren't really meant to be pasted on a layer and leave it as it is... it really is up to you

Go to the channels and if theres a alpha channel hold ctrl and click it then go back to your layer. Invert the selection and delete the black parts.
