Honestly, the only way your going to truely remove every last bit of adware/spyware is with a format. Otherwise, no program, or even combination of programs will ever fully remove it all.

Pretty much correct. Basically your question shouldn't be how to remove it, it should be how you can defend yourself from ever getting it in the first place.

    .:Edit:.
MP thread is quite helpful on that subject.

Some of the security systems I would recommend would be AVG, NOD32 and Kaspersky. In my opinion those are the three most effective antiviruses.

Yea, according to some reviews it's the best. Apparently it gets rid of 99.67 % of all known viruses. Something I don't quite believe myself.

Wow, maybe I'll get that. Right now we don't have really anything except Spyware Doctor. The only thing keeping the computer safe is Firefox and me not going to untrustworthy sites or downloading anything from said sites. Although I caught my dad trying to get a free laptop today :/

And even reformatting doesn't always fix it. We once had a trojan get on a computer at my old high school (someone was downloading porn, so a trojan naturally showed up). It got stuck in the registry and was still there after the reformat. McAffee did something to remove it. Probably the only thing that program has ever been good for.

And Inverse, I just find your testimony there to be hilarious. A well deserved fate, I must say :P.

Not all of us are millionaires living in huge mansion where we can actually afford to pay for our photoshops or our blue rays disks... I make an honest living and live a simple life.

Hmm, stealing and honest are practically antonyms.

Doesn't really matter for Photoshop though. Adobe practically begs you to steal their software if you don't plan to make money with it. Free advertising for them.

And I actually spent several months worth of savings to buy my software. But I need it to be licensed, so I have no choice in the matter. Adobe actually has a funny way of giving our CD keys now. I had fill out some information, they checked it with some other information, and then sent me my CD key online after I sent in the form. But this was for educational software, so they might do that just to make sure you didn't acquire it illegally as well as making sure you get a CD key that hasn't been stolen by a keygen...

I still find it funny that your keygen got blocked :P

    AVG = Virus protection
Super Anti Spyware = Spyware/Adware protection

    Thank you.

  10. Alright, thanks for all the help everyone, but now I have a different question:

How can I back up all my music and one of my game files (which I'm not as worried about) if I was going to format my PC?

I can vouch for Bit Defender 2009, I am using it and it doesn't block anything without permission and it has CLEANED my PC to bits. NO antivirus was able to remove the virus which creates an AUTORUN.inf on each of your partitions HDD. Bit defender fix it in a single click.

GO FOR BIT DEFENDER mate, IT IS by far the BEST antivirus solution. I have used Kaspersky, Norton 360, NOD32, AVG, Trend Micro, McAfee, tons of others - ALL BULL----.

    Don't listen to him. AVG.

Also, simply save all your data to a USB, external harddrive or another harddrive.

  13. I will do so later this week, thank you for your help.
