    Hi,
I recently hired someone to carry out some web design for me, however I believe that they have not put their all into the work as their other designs are much better.

I am a total noob when it comes to web design, and could use some help on how to advise him to revise what has been done so far.

The design will be for a prfessional computer console services shop.

    This is what we have:

To me, it seems very plain and bland - too white and "clinical".

Do you have any suggestions on improvements; fonts, layouts, edits etc. that I can relay to him?

The logo is in progress and the current one is temporary.

Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yes, he has definitely not put his all into it, as I wouldn't be the one to give advice to improve because I'm not into site making, I'd say hire a new guy.

Aesthetically, the site is not terrible, however if you made more than a dime, Microsoft would be suing your pants off for trademark infringement since the design elements are very similar to the Microsoft support site for Xbox. Inspiration and association with a brand in a website is a dangerous line to walk with major companies like this.

As for usability... at a glance, I wouldn't know what this site was for. First thing I would want is a phone number, address, email...anything... or if you have an online form to fill out for repairs, that needs to be a giant link on the home page, or the form should be included on the home page. As a user, I'm not waiting the extra 10 sec. to find it before I can get back to playing Halo. It'd be quicker to Google someone else.

Also, your designer needs to develop your brand before putting together any websites.
