I went to a friends house today and he said he has AOL/Roadrunner, and it wasnt connecting... He has 2000 on his laptop (what he only uses) Do, do, do, ok, he has Norton Security Center (AV and Firewall). So AOL is telling me that it detects a firewall, and cant go on. I go into Norton's Firewall, and i cannot figure out how to let AOL contect the modem.. So I disable the firewall, and repaired the connection, then it seemed to work. I put the firewall back on, and it runs fine. I restart, and I cannot get on AOL... So I take off Norton, restarted, that didnt help... I didnt have much time to do much else, so I left it as that, and am helping him tomorrow. Now, im thinking of backing everything up and reformatting, because as you know, Norton is a bisch to get rid of fully, because its so intrigrated into your system. If anybody has a solution, I will check back here before i go over there tomorrow around 2PM CDT.
Oh I knew that... well I believe it can be blocked via router if he has one.. have you tried the ipconfig stuff in cmd prompt yet? idk if it will have any effect just throwing out ideas.. he can always call tech support...
