And can your 2000 year book proof anything that it says happened? People are getting brain-washed from childhood till they don't have an opinion. The answer to every question questioning their faith in their religion is like a reflex which is denial.

People can rationally be sceptical about any and everything, belief has to come into it somewhere. Why is belief in words written 2000 years ago so incredulous compared to belief that we aren't brains in a vat?

Exactly, but nihilism ain't a fun way to live, so we make assumptions.

As much as I agree with it, psychologically, religion does help people escape from stress.

For worry of being temp banned if I enter this convo... I'm just going to add a fact. More people have been killed in the name of religion then anything else. Crusades, Holocaust, 9/11, most other terrorist bombings, the list is a lot longer and spans A LOT of centuries.

Wow.... if all society fully trusted in were things that were 100% proven, where would we be today? Take an inventor many of us know, Albert Einstein. Do you think that if people just shoved him aside because the things he proposed weren't 100% proven, things would be the same today? Or good ole Christopher Columbus. Think of the way things would be if he listened to others when they told him the world was flat... This list could go on and on... The unproven is what gives people hope. It's what makes people keep striving. Everything from a cure for cancer, to 100% efficient and non-polluting vehicles...Things like that are what give people hope, and what make people great. Who's to say that religion is or isn't real? I think I'll have to agree with the people that say that it's something that gives people hope. I know you didn't want a flame war, but to imply that you don't believe in anything that isn't 100% proven is ignorance... and ignorance is not bliss...

I'm sorry the thread have gone out of topic. I wasn't going to discuss about the existence of god but the fact that religion creates wars and hatred more than enlightenment and hope.

I think all topics about religion, abortion, etc... should not be allowed. It opens the door to immature people, and is an open invitation for a flame fest whether you ask for it or not...

Okay, is Religion is BS, why is our ENTIRE lives based off oif it.

    Tell me todays date.

That is how many days it has been since Jesus was born. Why would we base the system of time off of him, if he was a liar about being the son of God?
