iTunes is picking up whenver I plug my iPod into my computer it just wont let me edit any of my songs or my movies. When I look at the songs and movies in iTunes they are highlited grey and wont let me do anything to them.
This happened to me as well, but when I installed itunes to my other computer, I noticed there was an option that said "Automatically update library?" (or something of that sort) and it was already checked. When I unchecked it, or there might have been a "No, I want to manually edit songs" option, in which case I would've clicked that. But yeah, that fixed the problem for me.
I reinstalled it and that box didnt appear. I also did it on another hard drive to make sure the settings would change for it to come up but still nothing.
open iTunes and right click on your ipod icon. Go to Ipod options and then choose from that menu to manually manage your ipod.
It doesn't let you do anything to the songs/movies on your iPod if you do not have all the songs in your current library on that computer. You can go to My Computer -> *Your iPod* -> Then go to iPod_Controls (Must have "see hidden files/folders" enabled) -> Music and get your files like that. Only bad thing is they encrypted the name of the song, so if you want the original names of the files back, you must manally edit all of them (it's hell, I did it once before.)
