When you reformat make sure you put all of your drivers onto your flash drive, I forgot to do that once and it was a pain to get them back on there. (only if you still dont have the original CDs)

True, and if you're still on sdram, i think you should upgrade your motherboard and cpu to one that uses DDR 400 at least...

This is a tip for you mate. Only have 1 Antivirus or sypware remover as you may or may not find out they will colide with each other and they will cause problems so I would just have Norton. I cannot really help at the rest of your problems.

    WRONG...

AV's do not collide with Anti-Spyware programs...

AV's do collide with othe AV's.

AS (antispyware) do not collide with other AS. It is neccisary to have 2 or more AS programs, to catch all the different spyware out there..

Are you sure transferring the system32 folder will do it ? I can't afford to call up for internet fixing because it will cost me.

I transferred my program files , documents and settings , WINDOWS folder. What else?

dude, you just need my documents, and anything else personal...

most drivers come on a disc, like with your gfx card, for example. you should have two partitions, one with windows and stuff, the other with all your drivers and other personal stuff

worst case scenario is you just DL everything again. as for not having drivers, just use everest home edition http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=everesthome and find out what motherboard you have then just DL any drivers for that onto a floppy or CD, and any other drivers you shoudl eb able to DL off the net after a reformat.

FYI drivers help determine how windows(or any other OS) interacts with your hardware.

highly suggest buying more ram. a system with 768megs of ram and a crappy p4 at 3.0 ghz will assrape a Pentium Extreme edition at 10.0 ghz (which doesn't exist but would more or less be two 10 ghz P4 with 2mb cache combined)with 256megs of ram in 90% of things.

    you will notice the diference.

THere is no point in transfering Program files as that doesnt copy registry files so forget that.

So... RAM plays the biggest role in speed ?

DDR2 512 vs DDR 1GB , which is better? I know there's many different kinds of RAM types like SDRAM , DDR 1,2,3

your pc will either support ddr2 or ddr, I suspect the latter. currently there is no performance difference. I am yet to be impressed by ddr2, ddr3 is where the increase is at.
